Frequently Asked Questions
Why A
Child Safety ID Card?
Every 18
seconds a child is reported missing to local Police
Departments in the United States alone. Each year there are
between 3,200 and 4,600 non-family abductions. Another
495,000 children run away from home. Unfortunately, a high
percentage of these children fall victim to abductions, only
later to be found sexually assaulted and murdered. You are
your child’s best defense against becoming a missing
statistic. Help protect your
child by obtaining a Child Safety ID card, which includes an
up to date physical description, a recent picture of your
child and a fingerprint.
You as a Parent/Guardian will have all of the necessary
information to provide to local authorities, if your child is
missing or in the unfortunate event of an abduction.
Photographs
are essential in the recovery of a missing child. Law
Enforcement Agencies and Media Outlets can pass them around in
a shot period of time. This sort of mass exposure can better
able a person to identify your child.
Fingerprints
are very useful to Police. When a sighting of your child is
reported to the Police, they will be able to lift fingerprints
from that vicinity. If the Police have a copy of your
child’s fingerprint to compare, they will be able to conclude
if your child had truly been there.
